Sporting Equals are workiing in partnership with London Sport to deliver a cultural awareness workshop to help support officers to learn about engaging with diverse communities.

This workshop will help you learn about the provision of culturally appropriate services in sport and physical activity settings. Cultural awareness entails an understanding of how a person's culture may inform their values, behaviour, beliefs and basic assumptions. This workshops will include case studies and best practice as well as a chance to discuss issues relevant and local to you and your organisation.

Learning Outcomes from the workshop:

  • Understanding of BAME cultures and the barriers to sport participation for BAME communities
  • Success factors from good practice, case studies and how learning can be applied to local projects
  • How you can use sport to increase cultural awareness and cohesion
  • Marketing and community engagement factors

The workshop will take place on the 31st May 6-8 pm in London.
