2016 Asian Football Championships
The UK Asian Football Championships, now in its eighteenth consecutive year has successfully raised the profile of Asian in football and in doing so continues to stimulate much debate around the issues that prevent full participation of this particular community.
The Championships are supported by Sporting Equals through the British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (BEDSA).
“On behalf of the Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the BEDSAs for their support of the UK Asian Football Championships 2015 at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, Scotland. These Championships have been running for 17 years to help empower the talent within Asian football and raise the profile of the lack of Asian representation in elite football. With the support of the BEDSAs we hope more communities and individuals will be recognised and celebrated within Black Asian and minority ethnic talent.
Thank you again to the BEDSAs and the Sporting Equals Team for all their support.”
Dilawer Singh President - Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association (SEMSA)
