Premiership Rugby is a private company, wholly owned by and responsible to its member clubs and CVC Capital Partners. We are the organising body of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby league and organise the Premiership Rugby competition, the centralised broadcast rights and other commercial rights for the league. We are also responsible for the governance, regulation, delivery and promotion of the Premiership Rugby Cup, Premiership Rugby Shield and the Under 18s competition. Each of the member clubs is independent of Premiership Rugby, working within the rules of the game and delivering in their local communities.

ROLE OVERVIEW:  

The Commercial Operations Manager is a role which needs to deliver the following:

Key Result Areas & Responsibilities:

  • Produce and deliver a user-friendly and comprehensive Commercial Handbook to clubs
  • Manage booking and delivery of Player Appearances with clubs in order to deliver
    • Partner activations
    • Events inc. Awards, Season Launch, etc.
  • Liaise with Commercial/ Marketing/ Community team to operationally deliver all Premiership Rugby and partner rights activations within clubs, including
    • Perimeter signage and Big Screens
    • Match day activations
    • All in-stadia branding
    • All matchday presentation
  • Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final
    • Delivery of Fan Village
    • Perimeter signage and Big Screens
    • Match day activations
    • All in-stadia branding
    • All matchday presentation
  • Manage delivery of partner rights and activations at all other Premiership Rugby competitions
  • Promote diversity, equality and inclusion in everything we do and champion our values
  • Have full accountability for enhancing Gallagher Premiership Rugby matchday experience for fans, partners and all stakeholders

Essential attributes, skills, knowledge and experience needed:

  • Professional qualifications and experience
  • Proven track record of successfully managing stakeholders and delivering commercial rights activations within sport and/or entertainment
  • High level of integrity and discretion
  • Creative and action-oriented, bringing a solution-focused approach to your work.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised and with personal initiative
  • Proven expertise in working effectively with Microsoft Teams, Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Collaborative and inclusive, able to work effectively with colleagues across the business to enable collective success.
