Job Description

To provide and oversee strength & conditioning services to a variety of talented and elite athletes from a wide range of sports.

Our partners, clients and athletes include England Squash, Arsenal Women's FC, England Women's FA, England Netball, Saracens Mavericks Netball, England Golf, British Weightlifting, English Institute of Sport (EIS), University Scholars and Performance Sports, Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), Hertfordshire Talented Athlete Programme (HTAP), County and Regional sports teams and athletes including Netball, Swimming, Cricket, Athletics and Golf amongst others.

Planning, writing and delivery of strength and conditioning lectures, practical sessions, and assessments to undergraduate and postgraduate University of Hertfordshire (UH) students as well as workshops and courses to internal and external clients.

To provide and oversee consistent, high-quality strength and conditioning services to all athletes through the implementation of agreed operating procedures and standards.

To oversee and lead by example with the day to day running of the high performance strength and conditioning gym, management of staff and growth of the business and brand.

The post holder will demonstrate a service excellence mindset by providing a consistent, efficient, high quality and customer-oriented service to all customers of Hertfordshire Sports Village (HSV) through implementation of agreed operating procedures and standards, ensuring that the customer and our values are at the heart of every decision.

Skills and experience required

Substantial proven experience in the provision of S&C services to teams and individual athletes up to International level is essential for this role, as well as experience performing needs analyses, planning

and implementing diagnostics and monitoring systems and strategic planning of training based on the results. Line management experience and proven experience in presenting is also essential to this role.

Excellent IT literacy will be required as well as being organised, and a great communicator. Experience in lecturing, budget holder responsibilities and with another University or the TASS organisation would be desirable.

You will need to be a knowledgeable, skilled, personable, self-motivated individual with excellent coaching, presentation and communication skills. You must be able to use your own initiative, be pro-active, work well under pressure and be able to work as part of a busy and multidisciplinary team ensuring the entire team work collaboratively and effectively towards the vision and mission of the business.
