What we're looking for...
We want the customer experience for those playing badminton, and the operational processes from those delivering it, to be first class. We look at each part of that experience and delivery as a 'product' and are looking for someone that knows how to define what good looks like, and understands what it takes to deliver that. Working predominantly across the Development and Competition teams to lead development of products that drive growth of grassroots badminton through simple customer journeys and ensuring environments delivering badminton are able to provide quality experiences. We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to help us grow grassroots badminton and develop the badminton eco-system. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of customers and ensuring that the development of products and programmes, including training and resources enables the delivery of high quality experiences for all players, driven and supported by simple and clear customer journeys.

Responsibilities:

Development of products, programmes, training and resources that facilitate and drive delivery of high quality experiences for players across all badminton environments · Ensuring customer journeys are simple, clear, effective and efficient 

  • Understanding the needs of players, coaches, clubs, volunteers, officials and ensuring they are embedded into product development · 
  • Understanding the commercial opportunities of products and programmes and ensuring that thinking is embedded in product development. 
  • Leading internal product teams to develop products that are fit for purpose and meet strategic goals 
  • Drive and embed cultural change across the badminton eco-system, especially clubs and coaches, ensuring consistent delivery of high quality experiences that meet player expectations at all levels 
  • Management and development of platforms that support and facilitate delivery of high quality experiences 
  • Identify, build and maintain excellent relationships with key partners and stakeholders that support delivery of Badminton England strategy
  • Proactive member of the Development Leadership Team and contribute to strategic development across the whole team and organisation

Experience of a product or programme development, preferably within sport 

  • Track record of delivering impact through product or programme development/implementation 
  • Knowledge/understanding of the sporting landscape 
  • Track record of building customer understanding and using that knowledge and understanding to inform product development
  • Excellent change/project management skills 
  • Ability to communicate well to a range of audiences to an excellent standard
  •  Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Commercial acumen 
  • Team player with excellent planning and organisational ability 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, make sound judgement calls
  • Clear, logical thinker able to solve problems and propose pragmatic solutions 
  • Meticulous attention to detail 
  • Desire and passion to make a difference
