Job Description

Role summary:

We are seeking to deliver a sustainable legacy from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022. To achieve this, we are being supported by the Sport England Digital and Innovation Fund. This exciting post will lead and manage our legacy project to tackle inequalities and inspire new audiences to play badminton by testing and adopting innovative community led and digital approaches to reaching and engaging communities, diversifying our workforce and opening up a wide range of locally accessible environments for activity


Project Management:

  • Lead and manage delivery of Sport England funded (Digital and Innovation Fund) Birmingham 2022 Legacy project, focused on tackling inequalities and inspiring new audiences to play 
  • Product owner for No Strings Badminton and adult recreational offer – leading development of programme and adaptations required to meet legacy project objectives
  • Work collaboratively with wider team to ensure effective delivery of project including: 
  • Delivering effective customer journeys supporting wider business outcomes
  • Providing appropriate support and resources to enable delivery 
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key partners and local communities to maximise project delivery 
  • Manage project budget 

Customer journey 

  • Drive digital solution to support the opening of venues providing searchable and bookable opportunities 
  • Develop effective customer journeys to support the engagement and retention of the target audience 

Insight & Development 

  • Implement and manage the collection of data through Badminton England platforms to maximise learning and understanding to inform future delivery 
  • Active engagement in the Sport England led community of learning utilizing and sharing learnings from other national governing bodies

You will have:

  • Experienced project manager with a track record of delivering impact and projects to time and budget 
  • Experience of a product or programme development, preferably within sport and/or working with diverse communities 
  • Knowledge/understanding of the sporting landscape and/or community engagement
  • Track record of building customer understanding and using that knowledge and understanding to inform product development, preferably through the delivery of digital projects 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task · Ability to communicate well to a range of audiences to an excellent standard 
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Ability to influencing internal and external stakeholders to enable project delivery
  • Team player with excellent planning and organisational ability 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, make sound judgement calls 
  • Track record of using insights and analytics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement 
  • Clear, logical thinker able to solve problems and propose pragmatic solutions
