British Gymnastics is the UK Governing Body for gymnastics.  We exist to support, lead and inspire all those involved or interested in gymnastics; from the creation of new programmes and activities at grass roots level in the community, to the development of talent producing international gymnasts.

Within the Education Department, we have an opportunity for a Workforce Development Coordinator.  The overall purpose of this role is to deliver a regionally based education service and programme that supports, underpins and delivers increased participation in Gymnastics; and to promote a customer focussed approach to the delivery of courses, awards and interventions.

The Role
The main responsibilities of the role are to:
• Consulting with clubs, coaches and regional partners to identify current and future need / demand
• Working with the Workforce Development Officer, developing an annual/rolling plan to meet identified and future demand, combining regional and national needs and expressions of interest
• Monitoring trends and patterns in learner progression, across a range of disciplines and identifying / confirming potential areas for growth
• Ensuring a sufficient number of Tutors, Assessors and Internal Verifiers (IV's) required for current and future demand
• Supporting the recruitment qualification of new Tutors and Assessors / transfer of existing into new disciplines
• Ensuring relevant contracts are raised and in place with all parties
• Proactively liaising with IVs/EVs to ensure course quality and consistency is maintained within an agreed verification programme
• Monitoring the on-line applications and eligibility of learners/viability of courses
• Tracking/actioning learner registration, resource requirements, assessment dates, results and certification
• Liaising with 1st4sport regarding amendments to learners or courses


The Person
You will be able to demonstrate:
• Good/proven administration and IT skills i.e. Microsoft office, excel
• Have effective customer service and communication skills
• An understanding/appreciation of financial budgets, transactions, income, expenditure etc.
• Experience of data collection and analysis
• Initiative and the ability to prioritise, organise and work with a degree of autonomy
• Good communication, interpersonal skill and ability to work in a team
• Ability to work on their own initiative and plan their own workload on a daily basis;
• In addition the role holder will require a good understanding of coaching, club and competition structures; gymnast, coach and teacher pathways; the needs of the region, potential opportunities for growth and the required workforce interventions e.g. courses and workshops; regional structures
