British Swimming is seeking an experienced Sport Manager to join the Local Organising Committee of the World Para Swimming World Championships which are taking place in London 9-15th September 2019. The role is on a fixed term basis, the location of the role would be negotiable but would require travel and work from both Loughborough and London.
The purpose of the role is to deliver all aspects of the Competition Schedule and have responsibility over the Field of Play in accordance with IPC Rules and Regulations.
Responsibilities will include working with the World Para Swimming Technical Swimming Committee to ensure the successful delivery of the sport competition and the effective deployment of the Technical Officials. The Sport Manager will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the competition and training schedules are managed and delivered, and to manage sport specific volunteers at the event.
A working knowledge of swimming sport competition, event management and operations at an international level are essential, with prior experience of para-swimming being advantageous. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can play a key role in the delivery of this very exciting World Championships.
The successful individual will have knowledge of the IPC rules and regulations, as well as experience of working with senior management and stakeholders.
