Do you have an interest in sport, strategic planning and management skills, and the desire to put these to good use by volunteering to help lead the national governing body for paddlesport in Wales?

Canoe Wales is currently inviting applications for up to three seats on our volunteer Board of Directors to help us deliver our vision for paddlesport in Wales. As part of our commitment to a diverse and skilled board, we are particularly seeking individuals who can bring expertise or knowledge in the following areas:

  • Corporate governance and leadership
  • Marketing, communications and PR – to serve as board Marketing & Communications Lead
  • Equality and diversity – to serve as board Equality Lead
  • Safeguarding and child protection – to serve as board Safeguarding Lead

We are also seeking an Independent Chairperson and therefore we invite applicants to indicate on their application if they would also like to be considered for the role of Chairperson.

The board particularly welcomes applications from candidates from underrepresented groups including women, disabled people and people from BME communities – it is our ambition that our board reflects and represents the whole Welsh community. Full details of the role can be found in the role description below - and if any interested candidates have further questions, you are welcome to contact the CEO, Jen Browning at jen.browning@canoewales.com for an informal conversation about the role.
