JOB DESCRIPTION

UK Athletics (UKA), the National governing body for the premier Olympic and Paralympic sport of athletics has a vacancy for a Medical Services Manager to support the successful implementation of the World Class Plan through providing strategic and operational support to the Chief Medical Officer, medical and therapy teams.


The job holder will have a key role in ensuring all aspects of good governance and medical efficacy are embedded and adhered too within the delivery of medical programme and its systems.


Some key responsibilities of the role are to:
 Lead on ensuring all medical governance and good practice guidelines are being adhered to, and on the keeping of up to date documentation.
 Provide strong financial support to the CMO and Head of Physical Therapy, including management account variance reporting, re-forecasting and budget preparation.
 Develop and deliver an athlete engagement strategy, communicating key messages and gathering athlete feedback.
 Manage the medical appointments system and electronic medical records system, and all other documentation.
 To act as the primary operational contact for all external medical practitioners, to include generating contracts where applicable and liaising with Human resources and finance teams to ensure prompt payment.
 Ensure records are kept, appropriate servicing organised and stocks maintained for medical, therapy and pharmaceutical stocks, including liaising with suppliers.
 Maintain NPI and Lee Valley Medicine inventories.
The candidate will have:
 Previous experience in a management position within a medical environmental is an essential requirement for this role.
 Financial management skills and experience
 Be fully competent with Windows, Word, Excel and Access (Office 2000).
 Experience in Project management and confident in handing confidential information
 An understanding of an elite sports performance environment is desirable not essential.
