Associated Groups
In order to provide an informed advisory role, Sporting Equals works with key players in the sport and physical activity sector through its associated groups. These comprise of experts from community and elite sport as well as those with empathy and lived experience to ethnic diversity in sport.
Although differing in aims, our associated groups: the Sport Monitoring Advisory Panel and the BASPA Advisory Board both have an overarching goal of improving ethnically diverse representation and opportunity in sport. Sport Monitoring Advisory Panel
The Sport Monitoring Advisory Panel has been established by Sporting Equals to monitor British publicly funded sport and physical activity organisations, with its inaugural meeting taking place in February 2021. During the summer of 2020, publicly funded sport and physical activity organisations released statements acknowledging the previous lack of action by many to improve the experience of the African and Caribbean communities in the sport and physical activity sector. The momentum witnessed over this year, needs to continue and remain on the agenda. This Panel has been established to achieve this.
