Join our Director of Projects, Shaheen Bi at the England Athletics Exploration Day on Saturday March 16th at Nottingham Trent University. The session will look the lack of diversity in sports volunteering.
England Athletics recent volunteer survey results tell us that our volunteering community lacks diversity with only 3% from a Black Asian,Minority Ethnic Background.
The day will involve panel discussions to look at how we can make a sustainable change;
· How do we make volunteering more accessible for everyone?
· What is stopping more diverse groups of people from getting involved?
· How an everyone feel there is a role for them and be supported to do their bit?
The day involve panel debates and workshop discussions.

Breaking Boundaries City Leadership Events
Connecting Communities through Cricket, Breaking Boundaries, is a three-year project (2018 - 2021) bringing together young people, their families and communities, through regular engagement in cricket, playing, spectating and volunteering. The project will use the spark of the 2019 World Cup to make the most of crickets potential to bring different ethnic and faith communities closer together into one cricket community and foster mutual respect and friendships.
Black History Month 'COACH' Exhibition
To celebrate Black History Month, the Houses of Parliament will be host to a photographic exhibition, 'COACH', to showcase the contributions made by Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) coaches in athletics.
