London Region: Developing cricket within BME communities
Working in partnership with Reading FC Community Sports Trust, Sporting Equals were successful with a Sportivate bid to deliver a programme of Cricket by The CST at the Palmer Park venue. One of the most deprived wards within Reading, The CST were able to engage with the young people from the area using various sporting models. There is a high concentration of BME groups within the Palmer Park area, who participates in the eight week programme.
The one hour sessions took place on Friday early evenings and were a huge success, so much so that Reading and Sporting Equals are considering further joint working. All participants were encouraged to complete the ECBs National Playing Survey.
