The EIS exists to deliver outstanding performance – impacting support that enables UK High Performance System sports and athletes to excel

Established in 2002, and now a wholly owned subsidiary of UK Sport, the EIS has been providing support to Olympic and Paralympic sports for almost 20 years and is now one of the largest organisations in high performance sport globally.  It is unlike any other organisation in high performance sport, with an unrivalled network of experts in their fields delivering people-first solutions to over 40 Olympic and Paralympic Sports. 

The EIS sits in a pivotal role in the UK within high performance sport, providing outstanding support services to sports in our elite training centres on a day to day basis.  It is the world's leading provider of Sports Science, Medicine, Technology and Innovation to high performance sport with around 400 high performing and highly motivated staff working in a complex environment of external stakeholder relationships.

The EIS's Performance Planning strategy is at the centre of the EIS future strategy and aims to enable all Olympic and Paralympic sports to pursue excellence in performance planning and high-performing team working, that is connected to and highly valued by coaches.  It was through this strategy that 26 Heads of Performance Support (HoPS) were recruited and embedded in sports at the beginning of the Tokyo cycle to have a critical strategic impact on the science and medicine capability of each sport's Senior Leadership Team, and to provide better alignment between What It Takes To Win (WiTTW) and Performance Support team working.

Are you passionate about high performance sport with a deep knowledge of developing performance planning? This role works closely with the equivalent Head of Paralympic Performance Support and plays a key role in the organisational leadership of the HoPS community who are either EIS or National Governing Body (NGB) employed.
