Who We Are
Our research highlights that some ethnic groups encounter significant disparities across sport and physical activity. Support us through our projects and campaigns to create real inclusion in the sector.
Sporting Equals is an independent body that actively works to promote ethnic diversity throughout the sporting community. Originally formed in 1998 by Sport England, in partnership with the Commission for Racial Equality, we have worked to promote inclusivity through policy change and community-based engagement.
It is not only vital to mobilise Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities to become active in sport and general physical activity. There is also a real need for education and awareness surrounding these communities in order to bridge the current gaps in knowledge of key organisations in sport.
Sporting Equals exists to empower organisations, individuals as well as communities to become an active part of this change, to achieve their full potential and promote a more active and healthier lifestyle. We have been incremental in implementing change within sport already but constantly strive to elevate and enhance the opportunities available to the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.
